Telemedicine is a viable option that many healthcare professionals are implementing; in fact, both the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) are encouraging patients and physicians to utilize telemedicine options. During the COVID-19 national emergency, certain telehealth provisions have been relaxed for covered health care providers utilizing telehealth services.
Beginning Monday, March 30, 2020, our office will be offering telemedicine services to our established patients for routine visits and sick call needs. In order to participate in a telemedicine appointment you will need the following:
• a smartphone or other device such as an IPad or tablet with a functioning camera and microphone
• access to one of the following internet browsers- Google Chrome or Firefox, or Safari
You will receive either a text message to your cell phone or an email, if we do not have a cell phone number for you, with a link for the telemedicine visit. Approximately 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment time, please click on the link to enter the virtual waiting room, where one of our Medical Receptionists will greet you and update your demographic information.
A Medical Assistant will then meet you to review your current medications and history prior to your visit with the provider.
To expedite the process, please have your insurance and credit card information ready to review with the Medical Receptionist, along with a current medication list to review with the Medical Assistant. If you have asthma, have your Peak Flow meter, as the Medical Assistant will be asking you to perform a Peak Flow test during their review.
Please notify our office if you have any questions. We look forward to continuing to provide you with quality care services.
